Tema Merback writes as the author Belle Ami. Escape is a romance novel about two persons from different backgrounds, joined together in their fight to save their lives and finding love in the face of danger.

This romance novel is action packed, appealing to the imagination of the reader, keeping them captivated and awaking your senses with each detailed line. Belle Ami displays her knowledge of the middle east through her use of the Foreign dialect and Intel jargons which added to the realistic approach of the novel.

Chapters 1 & 2 begin with Cyrus showing us the type of danger he faced dailey. His life of unattached passion and being surrounded by cold hearted murderers and rapist became a part of his daily life. He had therefore given up on having a normal life. He had also given up on love. Cyrus had to play this role to ensure that the man who considered him his son, did not suspect that he was really a Mossad spy. If he did, it would mean big trouble for Iran and Isreal. He refused however to behave barbaric as the other men did. He did not rape the women in prison and he did not torture the foreign males. He always thought with a leveled head.

We are later introduced to Layla Wallace, a Harvard student. A red haired, beautiful  Virgin whose mother was Jewish and her father a scotish nuclear physist at MIT. Her life was great! She was to introduce her Saudi boyfriend, Zamir to her father, as he was to introduce her to his rich parents who did not believe in inter racial relationships. Despite their racial background, they were willing to fight to be together.

Layla learns heartbreak and true love all at once as Zamir is released and doesn't try to save her.  Her captor becomes her rescuer or her murderer, depending on if they are able to escape from Iran.

For me this novel is a 3 out of 4 as the combination of action and romance greatly appeals to the readers imagination. It is very rare that romance and action are pleasantly mixed. However, Belle Ami has provided an interesting plot. The story could have been split in two. As we don't really know Zamir's side of the story. Was he heart broken? Did he go back for her? Did he truly love her?

The use of Foreign language and jargons also makes the novel seem realistic. However, too much foreign language may become distracting for some readers as it was at times for me. There were moments that I wondered what he was saying. I knew it was something romantic, but the translation was not there, for example aziz-am.

The display of passion is nothing like most romance novels where the virgin is shy and unaware of her sexuality. I would recommend this novel for persons who are interested in an action packed romance novels.
