Review by Edu Ukporo -- Roadmap to the End of Days

Roadmap to End of Days is a non fiction, insightful read with a lot of research undertaken and a leaning to biblical eschatology. The book draws points from different books and texts and considers accounts from certain faiths in the world today.
Though the book is well written, there is emphasis on the Judaic and Christian religions which causes a dissonance because even when these two religions rub off each other, they are separate and distinct. The book appears to be in line with biblical eschatology but embellishes stories in the bible. An example is stating that one creation day was equivalent to 2.5 billion years. This statement cannot be truly ascertained and can only be viewed in context to the reader and his/her faith.
Historical events with regard to the divine plan are summarized in chapter 2, followed by the messianic era, key events and personalities in chapter 3. Here there is a glaring reduction in portraying the personality of Jesus Christ who the bible in the second testament shows as the messiah though this is subject to debate depending on the readers inclinations, rather Moses is highly esteemed.
Going through the bible, the divine plan was misconstrued when Adam ate the forbidden fruit which led to the change in man's destiny and the need for a messiah or redeemer to set Adam's lineage back on the original purpose for creation which was to serve the Creator in 'spirit and in truth'. The bible speaks of Jesus Christ as the redeemer who had come and gone though this is still subject to debate as only Christians uphold this view. The question therefore is...after roadmap to end of days what next? How will we know who the messiah is or will be? Is this messiah for the whole world or for a particular faith?
The matter of end of days cannot be taken as fact as there are too many conjectures, suppositions and abstracts that abound the subject.
Also, there is the issue of complexity
as the reader needs to check and cross references with care taken not to lose focus on the subject matter.
Everyday there are rumours of the end of the world or an apocalypse. There is little to persuade the reader that this text is different from the many 'End of Days' books out there.
I do commend the writer for all the research and writeup it is difficult to agree with the calculations, events and overall intent of this book as no one knows the end. We can only speculate using times and signs that occur. The only thing agreeable with a speculation is that it remains a speculation. I rate this book 2 out of 4.
