The book titled My Trip to Adele’s major aim is to entertain and also give knowledge about other communities order than your own, to be specific, life in Jordan, (Marrakesh) Morocco, Las Vegas, U.S.A, Italy and the likes. It detailed the way of lives of the settlers. The book the Trip to Adele was written by R.I Alyseer and A.I Alyaseer who happened to be siblings, both fell in love with Adele as an artist and were also inspired by her to write this story which was rightly published by them. The book is basically a work of fiction with the following themes; theme of love, marriage, reconciliation, religion, hatred, divorce, focus, determination, achievement, revenge and so on.
The book is basically written by the writers who hail from Arabic speaking country and have beliefs of Islamic; this makes the writer to divert a little into the belief of Islam which kind of dominates the content of the text. The book is about the popular musician; Adele whom the characters in the text found as the consolation to their problems anytime they are stressed up with the issues of life around them. The text contains many major characters which the author developed them equally in separate segments.
Elias who lives in Rome but lost his love Malika whose mother Kanza uses as a source of income in prostitution at her early stage of life, 13years old in Marrakesh at the El Fnaa square Morocco while Elias was 28years of age, and was so fond of her maybe because of the spell casted on him by Kanza which made him to feel uneasy for years until he found his way to Verona in Italy in search of her, only to found English Malika with the help of prophesy and later met her at the Adele’s concert where his dream was fulfilled. Also centered on Dr. Yaser who married Mariam out of pity at the edge of giving up on her medical profession whom he barely know and later found himself tied in the marriage by the domineering, boring and religious lifestyle of Mariam which was totally different from his; this made the union to be at the edge of crashing but both found the lost love on their way to Adele's concert.
Moreover, it also centered on Nadia who lost her marriage due to the strictness and uncared attitude of her ex- husband who doesn’t believe in love but in fantasy, he found the marriage boring at the time of Nadia’s pregnancy and he left for another woman but Nadia got Waleed; her baby boy and the only gain and consolation to her past pain in the marriage. She cared for the boy so much that she tutored him how to sing Adele’s songs and later sees it that the only way to make him happy is for them to be together at the up-coming concert in Italy but unfortunately the trip to Verona was cancelled by the ex-husband seeing it as the only means to get back to Nadia for ruining his third marriage.
The text has a very technical plot which based on many major characters like Elias and Malika, Yaser and Mariam, Nadia and her Ex-husband who were well developed by the writers. The storyline was interwoven till the end of the whole book where focus of each present character was on Adele’s concert and is very interesting, entertaining and instructing; full of suspense and is also good for people in relationships and marriages. Also for those looking forward to having one in future only to be aware of the fact that institution called marriage is not always bed of roses. The book is highly recommended for everybody both young and old and whosoever wants to have a successful relationships and a blissful marriage only that the authors should be aware of the fact that their work should be of less Islamic belief dominated because of some readers of other believes who may find this boring, also should watch out for some typos and grammatical errors on the following pages; page155 and some other…for all this(these)pg155, 197, no other things mattered to me now that(than)my own. 153pg, …to kill(clean) before my son…pg147 etc .
In conclusion, the book is quite interesting because, its full of romance which will make the reader enjoy it and to be fully aware that in relationships and marriages there are also challenges which the two must learn to handle and to adjust to, as seen in the characters presented in the text by the author. The book is hereby rated 3 out of 4 stars.
