Marrying a Playboy Billionaire by H.M. Irwing is a romantic novel involving a lot of passion between two people. The story starts with what happened five years ago, how she faces her heartbreak, and then proceeds to the current time where she plans to repent for what she did, the same night, five years ago which leads her straight to Justin’s office, wrapped in his arms. This is where the story gets hot, we would a lot of sexual tension and then gets interesting as when Justin asks Aria to marry him. The story basically revolves with the pair trying to know each other and trying to put up with each other’s family.
I was on a reading phase for romantic novels. Luckily enough, I came across Marrying a Playboy Billionaire and got it for free. In the story, you get the usual knight in shining armor saves damsel in distress situation. I like the humor in the book, such as how the mother basically is acting like the cupid for the couple, pushing them together to get married already. It was quirky, although at times, it was self-deprecating. I also like that the author incorporated an LGBT relationship in the story, and I highly support that. Another thing that I like was how the main guy was not an insensitive – for lack of better word – ass, because usually in most of the story lines similar to Marrying a Playboy Billionaire that I have read the main character’s love interest is usually cold, insensitive and the likes, only somewhere in the middle of the story do we see them in a different light.
On another note, I was not invested in the characters as I thought I would be, I could not relate that much either, not for the lack of love life in my part but because the character’s decision was too rush, at least for me. I didn't see much of the characters' development. I found the main character a bit petty. There wasn't much of a conflict in the story, and when there is, it was easily, if not, quickly resolved.
I actually find it a little boring at times, although with the excitement of those steamy scenes, it would be understandable that there would be parts where the story lays low. I might have find it more interesting if it had also been from Justin's perspective. The book is entitled Marrying a Playboy Billionaire but there was no real evidence that he was a playboy at all, sure we’ve met a few of his ex-girlfriends here and there but anything other than that there is no evident proof.
I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars, as I have mentioned earlier, at that time when I got this book I was in the mood for cliché romance and that is the reason why I got through the book. I would only recommend the book to those people interested in an erotic fantasy novel and looking for a distraction. It was still a good read nonetheless.
