"...and they lived happily ever after."

A quotation that we read in children's books of fairy tales, and gave us wonderful views in life. It made us believe that there is a Prince Charming in everyone's life, but life isn't fairy tale at all. There are no seven dwarfs, no fairy godmother, but there are witches around us. Life sometimes put us in misery, but there is a reason for that. In H.M Irwing's Ever After, you'll discover this kind of romance that will make you realize that life doesn't need dwarfs, fairies or true love's kiss for you to have 'a happily ever after' ending.

H.M Irwing's Ever After was a romance type of book with a real life fairy tale. The book was all about Cindy Marshall, a girl who did not believe in love after his father left her with all the bitterness in life. She worked as a waitress in the most prestigious nigh club in Australia called The Monk. In her most desperate time, she met the Mafia King's son, Julian the Dark Prince who turned out to be his boss. With all his might, he did everything for Cindy's sake without her knowing. It was the Dark Prince who made things possible for a fairy tale come true in Cindy's life, but Cindy does not love him. She doesn't love anyone except her deceased mother. Then, realization strikes her mind that she can no longer live without him after all the nights they spent together.

The book was very interesting because it wasn't a common fairy tale. I don't read fairy tale books or watch Disney princesses, but this got my attention. The details were vivid that you can visualize the event. I like the author's idea of a good stepmother, cheerful stepbrothers and charming stepsisters, since extended families are not all mean. It's amazing that she gave credits to the good side of having an extended family. The book really changed my concept of love or true love. I've been hurt a couple of times and I don't want to suffer again, so I turned out to be a man-hater. However, my bitterness dissolved when I finished reading the book. I realized that, I fell in love to a wrong man in a wrong time. I just need a little more time to heal and maybe, I will give myself a chance to love again. Love is a serious matter that must be given full attention to think and decide.

Ever After made me realize a lot of things; forgiveness, acceptance and love will free us from all our miseries. You'll never be happy with hatred against the people who left you and who took a lot of space from your heart. This book is a very good material to contemplate and reflect. This book will make a great movie if given a chance.

I advice some readers to read the book and delve yourselves in. In that way, you can feel how the characters feel, you can see what the authors want you to see and you'll realize the beauty in the story. I rate this book with 3 out of 4 stars. I rate it with this score because I was looking for a particular turn of event, but I wasn't able to find it in the book. Well, we all have different expectations every time we read or watch something, don't we? Nevertheless, the book is unique, that I can assure you.
