Yesterday by Samyann is a historical fiction book. While in modern times this book is set in Chicago Illinois, but while in the Civil War era it is set in South Carolina and Illinois.

Yesterday is about Amanda Parker finding her past. Amanda starts out as a young woman who is struck by tragedy more often than not, untill she saves Mark Callahan, a young mounted police oficer, from a falling train bridge. These two people have never met before, but they both feel as if somewhere in there past they know each other. Using regression Amanda delves into her past to find their connection, and finds an amazing story that surprisingly reflects her own tragedy stricken life. Amanda and Mark find that the events of yesterday have a lot to do with the happenings of today.

This book was written and edited expertly. The author of this book did an amazing job at incorporating real historical events into this story. All of the characters in this book are very realistic. This author made the characters with real day to day struggles so they were very easy to relate to. The author also described the emotions of the characters very well. Yesterday was a very detailed and descriptive book. There were no gramatical or spelling related errors in this book. Overall this book was decently written.

I personally did not enjoy this book for many reasons. This book is not at all that interesting to me because of its slow drawn out plot. The modern portion of this book was slightly boring and very sexualy oriented. The half of the book that was set in the Civil War era was very interesting and had no sexual scenes. In my opinion this was the best part of the book. Although this book is listed under the historical fiction genre; it would be better placed under the romance genre. Sometimes the format of the ebook would glitch while I was reading and send me back to the previous chapter.

I recommend this book to people who enjoy stories about reincarnation. This book could also appeal to people who love romance novels. I suggest that no one under 18 read this book because of frequent sexual scenes.

I gave this book 2 out of 4 stars because I did not personally enjoy this book. I did not enjoy this book because of it's long drawn out plot and sultry scenes. Although this book was not my taste it was not badly written and will most likely appeal to many other readers.
