ESCAPE by Belle Ami
This book is an erotic thriller infused with espionage that makes it quite interesting; it is also concerned with the nuclearization of the Middle East and its dangers.

When Layla Wallace an art history doctoral candidate and her Saudi boyfriend who are both students at Harvard are kidnapped in Dubai and taken to Iran, Cyrus an undercover agent is given a mission to get her out of Iran or kill her when he fails. Layla being the daughter of a renowned nuclear physicist is a perfect target for blackmail and her kidnapping could cause an international incident. The couple is separated and Layla is sent to prison in Tehran where Cyrus comes to her rescue and gets the name “superman”. The two cannot ignore their instant attraction they feel for each. Cyrus was the assistant to the deputy director of Oghab2,Iran's secret Intel organization in charge of their nuclear ambitions, his position allows him to keep a close eye on Iran’s nuclearization ,he is not happy that his cover is being blown ,but knows not to question authority.

Escape is a very interesting book because of its romantic genre, the events progress in a fast paced manner with a hint of action making it a thriller as it is romantic. The characters personalities are very different but blend well to give the story an interesting twist. Layla is my favorite character, she is portrayed as a strong lady who handled the whole situation with courage and stood by her decisions. Their love story began in the most unexpected way but I found myself rooting for them. The author keeps the story interesting as the couple faces different challenges in their escape when all routes are closed. Their escape from Iran seems almost impossible.

The book is mostly written mostly in Cyrus and Layla’s voice which was perfect given the thriller elements of the book. The author’s ability to describe the attraction and seduction of Cyrus and Layla gave me butterflies. The plot of the book was really smooth and easy to follow and I did not come across any grammatical errors.

I liked the ending of the book the book so much I had to reread the last few chapters. It was a simple book written with little Islamic words of endearment that make the book interesting. I would rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. The book contains very detailed mature scenes and would be good for adults looking for a romantic thriller.
