Sounds like an interesting historical fiction. I think that I will have to read the first two books as well first.

This seems like a very suspenseful read. Billy's disappearance is the captivating factor I will love to understand in the book. Nice review.

How Yates integrated real people with fictional ones is as intriguing as what happened during the disappearance of Billy. It looks like a well written novel of adventure and life lesson. Congrats!

Book sounds very interesting but it'll be more interesting if I had an idea of what the first two series are all about. Congrats on the#BOTD

The Lost Years of Billy Battles by Author Ronald E. Yates is an amazing book about adventure and great life lessons. It gives an expose on the early American history, languages at a time and many other historical details. The book sounds interesting.

I absolutely love how you describe the book! I'm amazed that you took the time to research the historical events within the book. This makes me feel more appreciative of the author too because it shows how dedicated he is to his work. Beautiful review! :tiphat:

Congrats on your first 4 out of 4. You just know when it feels right. This series sounds like quite the undertaking. I don’t think I’m ready for such an investment at this time, but it does sound well researched. Great review!

Historical fiction is simply not my forte. Despite the reviews I've seen, including your glowing one here, I simply cannot engage with the story. I found the sample lackluster at best, even with the promise of subterfuge between the U.S. government, Mexico, and Germany all entangled with one another. Objectively, I can see how the characters and plot would interest those who are fond of the genre, but that is simply not me. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book, but I'll have to pass. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Always love fiction that is set during WW1as I get a feel as to what transpired. Billy sounds like a rather interesting character who has much to tell!

This historical fiction book sounds like an unforgettable adventure. Unfortunately, I'm not the intended audience right now. Great review!

I like your review and it is very obvious how engrossed you became in the book. I cannot wait to read more about this author and his books. I like that the main character was a real person and that his great grandson wrote the forward to the book. I have not heard a lot of this author, but surely I have been missing out. I love your plea at the end for more information which is something that I would have done with a book as captivating as this one.
