Wow! I was already interested but your review has tipped me over the edge and I am upping this on my list! There's nothing like when the author's writing and story telling takes you away to the worlds unknown! :)

Thank you for such a thorough and inviting review! :)

I love authors who have the potential to build a whole new world and are able to build it in such a way that you feel like you are part of that world. Matthew Tysz is such an author. I'm really eager to read the next installment of it. Thanks for an insightful review.

Saint Bruno wrote: 30 Aug 2020, 10:58Nevertheless, I must commend the author for the use of vivid imagery in this book. His descriptions took my imagination on a wild ride, and it felt like I was physically witnessing the events in the book. I am always on the lookout for how believable the dialogues are in any book I read, and I am glad those in this book didn't disappoint. I fell in love with Rowan's character due to his witty remarks and sense of humor.
Couldn't agree more :D Rowan's character is hard to ignore. I must say your review was really insightful and informative.

The review is very interesting. This book takes you on a journey through a medieval supernatural land. I found what I read gripped my imagination.

After reading the book sample, I was not interested in reading the entire book, but your enthusiastic assessment of character development and dialog make me want to reconsider. I enjoy fantasy stories if I can relate to deeper, realistic characters. I may go back and give this book a full read after all. Thank you!

I have read this book two days ago but it wasn't enjoyable for me that I dropped it without finishing the whole story perhaps is that it wasn't my genre but I am sure there are people who will find the book interesting and I appreciate the author's work. Thanks for the review. Congratulations BOTD

I love vivid imagery that lets the reader see clearly what is going on, especially in fantasy books like this one because the author is creating a different world than the one we know so imagery is very important. Thanks for the review, it sounds fascinating but I usually try to stay away from series.

I'd definitely like to read the entire series, especially since I love epic fantasy. The author seems to have done a great job with both the character and plot development. I'm also drawn to the alternating perspectives, the vivid imagery, and the lively dialogues. Thanks for a wonderful review!

This was an interesting read for me. I liked the story of Galen and his journey to a new and better world. The story has different angles to it that tie up as the book comes to its conclusion. I believe the ending is justified by the next book in the series. Great review!

I've read other books by Matthew Tyz, and you're absolutely correct. He never fails to come through with vivid imagery, detailed character development and, of course, lots of action. In this case, the fantasy element makes the book even more attractive to me, as that is one of my favorite genres. I already have this one on my (ever-expanding *sigh*) 'to read' shelf. Wonderfully detailed review, thanks!

I have been meaning to get around to this series for a while, based on all the great reviews of it. I love a dark fantasy, especially combined with the vivid imagery you mentioned.
