A fantasy/romance/historical fiction with all the right ingredients including magic, shape shifting and battles. A nice and well-written review. Congrats to the author on #BOTD

Wow, it sounds like this is an amazing book! I love Celtic history and fantasy elements, so this is definitely going to go into my 'to read' pile. Glad to hear it doesn't brush away the differences in women's standings between cultures too!

I have read and reviewed this book. I'm glad I made that choice and I'm rooting for Caitrin. If you enjoy reading a story about forbidden love, the dilemma of one to choose between duty and love, or historical fiction set in Celtic, you will surely enjoy this one.

I love reading books on history. Your review has showed me that the book is a historical fiction mixed with fantasy which will make reading the book all together fascinating and imaginative. Thanks for a great review.

Thank you for a wonderful review :) I studied Ancient Rome for a while so it would be interesting to see how all the familiar details work their way into this story. I'm looking forward to reading this one when I get the chance.

Learning about new or old cultures is always a must. It does not only increases our knowledge but also helps us open our minds to the world. Also, I like when authors mix history and fantasy 'cause the reader get to enjoy two things at the same time. However, I do not like reading about sexual assaults or so.

I don't like the book. The violence and incestuous behavior of some of the characters is off putting. I also disliked the author's writing style and it was hard to get into the story. I couldn't relate to the characters so it made me uninterested in reading the book. The book was not is not for me and I am going to pass on reading the second book of the series.

I might pass on this book due to the sexual assault, but I do like that it is action-packed and had historical and fantasy elements in it. Great review!

I cannot wait to read this book. Each review serves to promote the book even more.

It sounds complex but in a good way. I think you really need to invest time and energy to get to know the characters and follow the various elements.
You know you’ve read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.

Strong female archetypes produced in any genre is auspicious given our society’s want to produce positive female role models. In fiction, these characters are limitless, birthed out of the embers of the writer’s creative hand. In the case of Catrin, she is a persistent druidess bound with conflict over her visions and her emotions. This internal upheaval demonstrates the complexity of the human condition. Juxtaposed upon the background of Celtic lore and familial expectation she must confront her destiny among these factors and encounter a new reality. This presents as a captivating book for those that follow the fantasy genre, particularly those dominated by the powerful female paradigm.

Historical fiction/fantasy involving Celtic and Roman traditions, along with magic, romance, and treason sounds like a fun read. As the first installment of the series, this book is a nice segue into a lot more action as Catrin and Marcellus find themselves surrounded by war and love. Great review.

I really liked that this book was set in Scotland among the Celts, but I didn’t enjoy the sample as much as I hoped.
