I really like how straightforward you were about what you expected to read and detailed what the book is actually about. I was confused while reading the first couple of pages so your review helped clarify what the whole book is about. Thank you!

This was very interesting to me, i can actually relate to this character from the midlife downs to the down to earth choice of words you speak of, as i to have lost a family member as well as other things, its the determination if the character that i can apply to my own life, the mindset you speak of upon returning home inspires me greatly, i may just have to read this book. Good review

Thanks for the thoughtful review that you provided. It sounds like the author really went through quite a bit. He experiences a midlife crisis and then decides to go a different route with his life. He goes on adventures and shares his stories as well as the things that are/were going on in his mind. It sounds like he had a full experience with each of his adventures. While I do enjoy the outdoors, I don't think that this book will be one that piques my interest. I'm sure that others will enjoy though.

It would be fascinating to discover the details of David's encounters with the Seven Summits. From frostbite to the threat of cannibalism and conversing with a ghost, this book has a lot to offer. I would imagine David conquered a lot more than just the mountains in his incredible feat. Great review.

Climbing mountains at 44 is no joke and doing it for a purpose is inspiring. I feel like everyone will find an aspect in this book that they like. Great review.

What a thorough review of a book that speaks about a great story of success!🥰Not only did the author checked this out of his bucket list but more so he did with flying colors 🎨 No wonder it has received a PERFECT 4/4 rating from the OBC Review Team and nearly a 5-star rating on Amazon👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 congratulations to the author on the #BOTD!

I like your review especially about telling the reader how to read this book which I have not seen before. I think that the biggest take away that I got was that it is not about the destination, but about the journey. Climbing was a way for the author to positively deal with his demons and push himself to be a better version of himself.

This book sounds like quite the journey, both physically and spiritually. I’ll look into it.

Stop looking at the summit and focus on the joy of each day is a good life motto. Great review.

I think I'll pass on this one. While it sounds like a magnificent journey to read about, I don't think the undramatic tone you mentioned would keep my attention. With that being said, I do hope this finds its way into the hands of someone who can truly appreciate it.

I did find the undramatic tone of this story a little dry for lack of a better word. I think it's very inspiring that the author accomplished such a difficult, and magnificent feat at his age. However, I don't have much of an interest to pick up this book. Thanks for sharing this review with us :)

I did not think I would enjoy the sample, but I did. I would consider reading the entire book to find how David went from a rookie climber to spending 7 years doing it. The extreme temperatures and danger he mentioned would not encourage me to climb, danger aside I hate being cold. However, I would love to read about his journey.

A few phrases in this review such as 'cannibalism' and 'casually chatting with deceased brother's ghost', tempt me to add this book to my shelf, which I will be doing right away. Thank you for the in-depth review.

I suppose that Mauro would have plenty of time to think as he climbed the mountains since it boiled down to no cell phone, computer, or TV distractions to just his thoughts. I like your description of this as an extreme form of meditation and the theme of "stop looking at the summit - just focus on finding joy each day."

This sounds like a midlife crisis mountain climb. This is more about internal debates and struggles than about an adventurous climb. Interesting.
