A delightful little story that most children will be able to relate to on some level. Engaging animal characters and beautiful illustrations as well. Kids will love this!

Thank you for the review. Obviously, I am not going to read this book since it is meant for children, but it is good to know that it touches on important topics such as friendship, acceptance, love, and security.

Thanks for the great review. Being the eldest among the siblings I definitely identify with the plot. Would be a fun read for both me and my kid.

First, the picturesque nature of this book simply simplifies it for the ordinary man to understand. I appreciate the use of literature in this book. I feel the kittens are means of symbolism, symbolising the human nature. Also This book is very didactic in nature as it teaches lessons of great virtue and good morals.

Thanks for the review. Very informative and detailed oriented. I enjoy your analysis on the position of siblings in the story. This seems like it is a great book for young children to enjoy and learn from as well. I like your take on the illustration, which were great. I like a book with animals and would like to read about the kitten and rabbit in this story.

It is always a good thing when the author can bring animals to life in a story.

Great review. It brought me back to my childhood fantasies about animals. The one page preview didn't tell me much but your review brought it all together. Thanks again.

This illustrated book exposes children to the happenings of the real world, teaching them how to deal with change and how to build strong interpersonal ties. The characters are unique, with attractive traits to which anyone can relate.

Sounds like this book would be an enjoyable read for those with young ones. This would also be a great baby shower gift for the new older brother or sister. I like children's books that teach character traits and morals. I thought it was funny the kitten's name is Kailey because my daughter's name is Kailey (spelled exactly the same). Thanks for the thorough review! I enjoyed reading your opinions.

I also read and enjoyed this sweet book. Definitely having a kitty and bunny as friends with cute personalities was a positive here! I agree about the illustrations - they portrayed what was happening in the text well. Also, I found that the themes of acceptance, love, and security were done well and not preachy at all. Yes, the questioning of the newest animal was pretty obvious and I also chuckled as there isn't a mystery to the giraffe. As as adult, I definitely enjoyed this one and I'm glad you did too! Thank you for sharing!

A lovely little story indeed. Perfect for a couple with a young children already awaiting a brother or sister's arrival home from the hospital or an adoption. It can however include a classroom where a new student is joining. The lessons are the same it's the situations themselves that differ.

This is a great book that children are sure to learn from. Lessons like love and acceptance are what children need not excluding adults. Thanks for the review.

"I mostly love how Ms. Geiger was able to teach her lessons without being preachy. Children won’t even know they’re being taught while reading this story, yet they’ll learn about acceptance, love, and security, all while having fun. Like me, if they’re an older sibling, they’ll be able to see themselves in the tale and take away something especially relevant to themselves." I think this is a good quality for a youth book. It's good that it is planting seeds, without making the child feel like they are being lectured. Congratulations on BOTD.
