I am a fan of Roman history but not fantasy. Based on the review it sounds like the book has some issues with the characters being unrealistic. I don’t think this is the book for me.

I'm a big fan of history, especially during those periods when Roman and Celtic cultures clashed. This seems like something I'd probably enjoy.
I was born with a reading list I will never finish.

I also read this book when it was book of the month and I greatly enjoyed it. In fact I enjoyed it so much I had pre ordered the next one in the series. As for the twin sister i thi k you're right and it may be some foreshadowing into the next installment, which i cant wait to start reading.

I love historical fiction and, when done right, I love fantasy so this book is a dream come true.

Apollo's Raven by Linnea Tanner is a #Fantasy book with a perfect blend of #Historical and #Mythical matters in the #medieval period specifically the Roman and the Celtic cultures. Your review sparked my interest. Thanks much!

I had listened to the sample audio book, and it sounds very fantasy. Like the enemy would suddenly bargain in and create a chaos with many magic sounds, spells, and a ringing sound when swords are against each other (Although it's just a bit part of the book. My imagination is too much). From the voice, I thought Catrin is a shy Princess, or like the naive type that would go strong at the end, but reading your review, whoah I'm glad she grew up as strong warrior and could show her best to the guy she loves. Now, I really wonder what kind of druid power that Catrin has to save her homeland? and why is falling in love with her father's enemy would lead her torn? It makes me want to read the book in whole. Thanks for the review! :)

I love Celtic tales! I am very intrigued by this one. Will Princess Catrin overturn the prophecy in the end? She seems like a very strong warrior.

The book quite tells it all of a fantasized and epic story set in more imagined scenario..Quite interesting i must admit and the concept of creating something out of the blue to entertain and catch attention is wonderful

This was a great book; when I picked it up when it was BOTM I thought I was in store for a straight up historical, but was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the magic and mythological element. As you say, a perfect blend of fantasy and historical fiction.

Even just reading the first chapters left me totally caught up in the story. Your perception just further heightened my impressions from the author as a talented creator of while fantastical a quite realistically detailed reality that left me spellbound. I loved the honesty of Catrin in reacting to her family, her own honest fears and confidence in her connection with her Raven guide, and hope to find the outcomes just as satisfactory as the first few chapters; to see Catrin as strong as her voice when she commanded the soldiers to spare the Roman diplomat, and as wise Asher visions on the cliffs. Really appreciated the assurances to a great plot in your review.

I enjoyed mixed genres. A historical fiction mixed with fantasy sounds interesting. I am also curious to learn about the differences between the Celts and the Romans. I will likely read this book in the future. Thank you for a detailed and great review.
