This is a beautiful story, and your review is so compelling. I appreciate the message the author tries to pass across and I love a book with well developed and relatable characters. It will definitely make a great read for me. If I ever pick up this book, it's because of your review. Superb review

You said some encouraging things about my first review for OBC, the book Hidden. So I jumped over here to read your review and very glad I did too.

I think Ato is not the only creative one. I loved the way you suggested that if the dragon breathed his flames on the author's descriptions because they were as vivid as Ato's paintings they might also spring to life. What is difficult about writing reviews is that it is a cross between journalism and creative writing. You have a lot of information to pass on but you can't be so clinical that you don't convey some of the artistry of the book writer. You seem to have a talent at including and melding these two elements.

And I appreciated you allowing your own personality to come through by highlighting the part about Violet being misjudged. You picked up on the author's deeper meanings of prejudice, stereotyping and misjudging someone without any compassion.

Also, you're a bit of a tease. You start telling us about a character and plotline, get us all excited and then jump on to something else. (PR people would love you).

I enjoyed your review in and of itself and it has made me want to read a book I might well of just past right on by. I look forward to reading more of your reviews. It's obvious you're perceptive and put a lot of time and effort into them.

Thank you very much for your comment! I really relate to what you said about how we should be more loving people, and I completely agree with your statement that tolerance is just the minimun requirement. If I was the one to invent the language, I wouldn't even call it tolerance, because it comes from the world "tolerate", and it is kind of offensive in my opinion, because I think that no one wants to be "tolerated". I think people want to be accepted, to belong, to be loved, to be treated right, not to be "tolerated". Maybe in a better world this word would be repaced with a word that better represents the beauty of diversity and the fact that to be treated right is a basic right that everyone deserves, not a favour we do to someone by "tolerating" him/her. I hope that one day the world would become a space of love and acceptance where diversities and differences between people, and people in general, are celebrated and not "tolerated".
