I might not have the exact reason but all I know is Pre-1947 India and Pakistan was 1 country. Much like the Sudan with partition comes border issues.

The border region Jammu/Kashmir was created after the war for Pakistani independence. Its a buffer region between the 2 states still officially at war to this day. However, there are people ethnic to that region whose status seems undefined.

Oh okay. Thank you for sharing that with me. How horrible though, imagine having an undefined status! I hope things change for the better, and soon!

I can only imagine, don't know the full history but my family and I enjoyed watching Indian movies and some dealt with the Partition. So I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you for your comment.

Well the history aspect wasn't the main focus of the book, the main focus was that people from different backgrounds do share similarities and common ground. But I guess it could work as a starting point. Thank you for reading my review Raikyuu.
