Thanks, Geoffrey. From your review, it sounds like this book is not only entertaining but also covers the theme of expansive love - how many people can we love without it diminishing the love we already have for some of them? I'll try this on my granddaughter when she is old enough.

I always appreciate children's books for their role in shaping the minds to the little ones. I can garner from Kathleen Geiger's story that children will learn the beauty/importance of friendship and acceptance. Ever so often, we as humans tend to feel that the presence of a new person in our communal lives will detract from the love and attention we receive as individuals. This book is a subtle yet powerful reminder that there should always be room for love and care in our hearts. Thanks for the insightful review.
