First Survivor: The Impossible Childhood Cancer Breakthrough by Mark Unger is a remarkable blend of heart-wrenching emotion and well-researched facts. Louis Unger's battle with stage 4 neuroblastoma is an intense journey, but what stands out is how Unger grounds the emotional weight of the story in detailed medical facts

The Unger family’s unity is one of the most inspiring aspects of this book. Their ability to rally around Louis and create a fortress of love and support is truly admirable. Despite being faced with a terrifying diagnosis, they displayed resilience and unwavering strength

The reviewer's appreciation for Unger's unflinching portrayal of the medical establishment and the family's advocacy for alternative treatments is particularly poignant.

This was one of the first books that I had reviewed through OBC. This was really a gem among the rough. The exceptional lengths that were taken to save Louis were quite incredible and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your review with us, it is much appreciated!
