I like to learn from other people’s lives. I’m hesitant about this one, though, since it’s fictional. That brings authenticity into question. I would be more inclined to read the true life story.

Wow! This must be the most enthusiastic review I´ve read and I love it. It´s totally contagious.
I don´t think I would´ve been interested in this one if it wasn´t for your review. At first, I thought the same as you: the glamorous life of a celebrity. But now I can´t wait to learn more about her and all the lessons that you talk about. Touching the issue of the importance of being authentic and unique is fundamental for everyone, I believe.
Thanks a lot for a great review!

Interesting concept of detailing a star’s life by doing a psychoanalysis form of a book. It sounds like you felt this entire material deep in your heart and it made a powerful impact. While this one isn’t for me, I am always thrilled when a fellow reader/reviewer finds a book that resonates with them so strongly.

This sounds like an interesting account of Barbara Streisand life. I’d be interested to know where the fiction starts and the real memoir information ends. The life lessons shared by the author about overcoming hardships and obstacles in life also sounds like a huge bonus for this read.

Your review portrays how strongly you felt about this book. I was in a bit of dilemma as to whether or not to read this one, but the lessons you mentioned to be derived from the book made it sound a worthy read. Thanks for the review!

Barbara's Fate:

It saddens me that she grew up feeling so alone and not loved. Barbara, as it seems had talent even as a small child. Though she was never encouraged by her family, and constantly called ugly she used that to fuel her ambition. Not only finding her place in the world, but full filling her father's dream to honor him! I am curious to know which parts are based off her life vs the fictional areas.

I cannot wait to read the full book.

This book sounds very intriguing. My mother was always such a huge fan of Barbara Streisand, but to know that the life she lived a life of misery, abuse & heartache is absolutely shocking to me. We always forget that these stars & celebrities are just regular people like you and I; moreover, we expect that their lives be so different from that of our own so that it gives us something to dream about. I'm definitely looking forward to reading Barbara Streisand: On the Couch and learning about her life and all the lessons that she learned along the way.

Dr. Dale conducts psychoanalysis to go deep into the heart of Ms. Streisand sounds like a great book for those who are fans of this iconic star. I agree with Barbra's ideology of being blind to race. Ms. Streisand seems like inspiring woman who has had a rough childhood and yet persevered. I'm glad you felt the book flowed well, and that you found a good deal of life lessons here. Life is about growing and the lesson of forgiveness are very valuable ones to learn. Too bad about the errors you found, but I'm glad you found the book to be educative and full of great life lessons. Thank you for sharing!

I enjoyed reading your review. This book sounds attractive and full of awareness for the reader. This book is fictional and it develops interesting subjects. I will find a place for it on my shelves. Thanks for a very instructive review!

Even though I like Barbra well enough, I just have zero interest in reading a psychoanalysis of her or about her background or anything of that nature. I'm glad YOU were 'wow'ed by it, though.

Wow! this is one the best book I've read soo far
it has the full incite about life and it swings.
Ofcourse we all got problems but I thought celebrities had less problems.
And I realeased I was wrong coz you can have lesser problems but can be bigger than you could imagine.
I loved the the taste of those juicy sex storied gossip
and I think its obsessive as well

I don't think this one is for me. It crushes the idea of the ideal celebrity life and it gives essential life lessons we all need. It has a great idea at its core, I am just not interested in this kind of books.
