I've read this book and truly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the way the author handled Catrin melding with the raven. Shapeshifting and remote viewing are only a couple of the Celtic abilities that intrigue me. Your review was well written, and you did a great job of covering the wide range of topics included in the story.

A blend of historical fiction with fantasy with a spoon of politics. Stirred with a love story between two rivals Celtic princess and Roman warrior. Action wrapped ready to entertain all readers. Congrats on being BOTD 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻.
Thank you for the detailed and insightful review. 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻

I have read the first book in the series and would definitely like to see how the story continues. The fact that the female characters are so strong in this series encourages me to continue reading.

I love historical fiction, am afraid I cannot say the same about fantasy. The last sentence in the review will make me not read this. Good review though.

I read this book already, and enjoyed it. Catrin and Marcellus' relationship and interactions are worth reading this book alone, much less the rest of the action.

This sounds like such an excellent series. I love the combination of romance, history, and drama. I've got this on my 'want to read list'.

This sounds like a masterfully done historical fiction/fantasy. I've seen several reviews now, and it is always intriguing to me. I do wonder about the off-handed mention of a twin of Catrin's. I'm curious if that comes up again in future books. Thanks for a great review. Sounds like an enjoyable book.

Very good and detailed review. I enjoyed how you brought up the equality of wome back in 24AD. Thanks again for the review, it looks like a fascinating epic.

Between a sweeping romance, a journey of self-discovery and a classic battle between duty and love, it looks like Catrin's story has both romance and a solid base within Celtic and Roman traditions, myths. and legends.

While I thoroughly enjoy a novel based on this time period from time to time, I do not think that the emphasis placed on the romance is my cup of tea (particularly between a captive and their captor). Thank you for the review!

Thanks for the detailed review! I am not sure that this is the book for me due to the fantasy aspects of it. I am not a huge reader of fantasy books but I appreciate your review!

This blend of fantasy and historical fiction seems like a wonderful way to learn about Celtic and Roman culture.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this book is lovely. It has anything I'd hope for! I'd like more romance of course but I'm a hopelessly romantic.

This sounds like a great story, especially due to the blending of fantasy with historical fiction. Catrin's character shows that the author did a masterful job in developing the characters of the story.

Thank you for the review. I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing this book recently. Out of a few minor drawbacks, it is a very complete fantasy book, and I liked the amount of historical and mythological elements that it borrows to carry out the plot. I even plan to read the sequel at some point in the future.
