Nice review! The moral code of Hiram was definitely lacking in the beginning of the book. It's nice to know that he tries to redeem himself in the end.

I completely understand why this book would put you off; the sexist language was awful (but i think that was just a part of Hiram's character). I personally enjoyed it as a story though.

Thank you for the descriptive review!

I am still thinking whether to review this one or not. A good and a comprehensive review. Well done 👍👍

It's very interesting to see how people approach the same story in different perspectives. Thank you for this insight!

Hiram is a poor definition of a human being at the beginning of the book. Since almost all the people he met in the second part of his life seems to add positive features to his life, he becomes more open to being a good human being.
I liked your thorough summary. Thanks for the great review.

The protagonist, Hiram, seems an entirely disagreeable character. Though this book doesn't sound like my cup of tea, I'm sure there are those out there who will enjoy it. I do like that each character is given their own "voice." That sounds like an interesting method of writing. Thanks for the detailed review. I'm very glad I read it instead of finding out the hard way that I wouldn't like the book!

You did a good thorough review👍 i recently finished this novel and it was really enjoyable. Author's defending attitude towards euthanasia was disturbing but overall a great story.
