I like that the storytelling is strong enough to convey such crucial themes like loss, pain, survival, and friendship. Good character development also enriches the read. Thank you for an in-depth analysis.

This coming-of-age story highlights the life of Fred, a young boy who overcame many challenges and blossomed into a capable man. This is a story of loss, friendship, and war, punctuated by Fred's transition into society.

The transition from one state of mind to another is not a cakewalk. I love Fred's character and I would love to read the book. Thanks for your review.

Aside from being well-edited, the character development was done with justice plus the war story that has the best-feel good vibe. Congrats on BOTD!

I have read a work of Jerry Greenberg before, and I must say that the plotline is very creative, but the writing style is very sloppy. I think I will pass on this one, thank you for the review though.

This seems like a well-written war story with an overall soothing touch (a quite interesting feature) to it. Thank you for the review!

This story is quite an interesting one. Having read a few books on wars which were a little bit of a drag, I was pleasantly surprised to find all of my bias melt away. Not only is it a good story, but it was told in a way that reminds me of a nighttime story told by a grandpa. It tells the tale of loss and pain in such an easy manner so that even though you feel the pain, you are mostly engulfed by the joy, relief and peace of the characters.
