I'm not entirely won over with this book. I think it's something I could enjoy but at present it seems too complex for me to want to entertain right now.

It's not a straightforward read at first instance just as life could be tumultuous at times, too. However, it has fantastical tinges of what could be amidst realistic details also gleanable in reality. I do understand that we all have varying preferences and corresponding choices. I also give the book 4 out of 4. It is challenging to read Sarah's adventures with the canoe people. But that's part of the experience of awakening that the reader goes through with Strong Heart.

What a great combination - a headstrong orphan girl and her grandfather. It's definitely great to know Sarah's experience was extraordinary. It's nice to know that you liked how the story weaved in convention and tradition with some of the folklore that Tom didn't believe in. Too bad about the errors found here, but it's nice that the author included some of his personal background into his story. I actually read this. It wasn't my favorite book and I had a hard time enjoying it, but I'm glad you did! Thanks for sharing!

I got a review copy of this book, although halfway through reading, I gave up. The pace was too slow for me so I didn’t get to find out what happens at the end of her journey.

It could start off as arduous as life could really be for those of us in direr or more challenging situations. More often than not, that journey entails not easily giving up to eventually reach and see the more noteworthy realms. The good thing about our life is that there's always a chance to try once more even if we failed the first or even the second time around. There's always hope.
