The name the book "The Altitude Journal" should be named as "A Manuals of Altitude Manoeuvre" because the author has reflected his depth expression on high altitude dwellings.

I read the sample for this book and thought to myself this doesn't sound like a book for me. After reading your review though, I think I may really enjoy this book. You gave a very good, in depth summary of the book and may it very appealing. Great review!

Everyone has struggles in their life, and many go through a mid-life crisis. This story about a man channeling and working through his struggles by climbing sounds inspiring. Congrats on the book of the day! Great review.

The book was peppered with small words of wisdom, sometimes uncommon or counterintuitive. The prevalent theme is to stop looking at the summit - just focus on finding joy in each day. The advice will not only prove useful in extreme circumstances (sixteen thousand feet above sea level) but when you are faced with a challenge so grand and overwhelming that you start questioning yourself why bother trying. In fact, this book is essential to someone struggling in life, those who sense a purpose but are reluctant to act due to fright and self-doubt.

This is great advice that we could all apply in our lives. We are not all going to climb the Seven Summits but we all face hardships and we could use some words of wisdom.
I like very much your recommendation about reading this book in small parts because the technical stuff can get tiresome for those of us who aren't into sports.
Great review!

With each beast that we drop off from our shoulders, we become lighter and more liberated. I don’t think there is a tougher and more painful fight than the one with yourself. Struggling with the past, with destructive emotions, with cranky situations and managing to defeat them (or at least control them) brings you a step closer to inner freedom. The Altitude Journals sounds harsh soul detoxification that deserves a proper place on my shelf. Thank you for an insightful review!

Great review. This book seems like an adventure and inspirational journey. I’m interested to see how he battles these crisis all the while mountain climbing. I’ll put this on my to read list.

You make this sound like a deeply gratifying read, and one that will provide many words of wisdom during the process. I am intrigued that this mature man found solace and healing from the mountains, and was able to come to grips with his demons in this unconventional way. An inspiring read, reviewed thoughtfully and honestly. Many thanks.

I like that you suggested how to best read this novel in order to gain the most wisdom from it. I am intrigued by his motivations for climbing all seven peaks and what he gained from doing so. Thank you for an excellent review!

Your review of today's BOTD was excellent - thank you! Filled with life lessons and words of wisdom, this inspirational memoir will help you see things in a different, possibly brighter, light. When we seek to find joy in our everyday lives, rather than focusing on - what we may feel to be - the big unattainable picture, we can accomplish more than we ever thought possible. I've added this to my WTR list! Thank you, again! :-)

His life sounds very interesting and I appreciate the life lessons learned through others struggles. Thank you for the review. I don't know that it is something I will sit down to read as I do like to read in long stints, but it could be a book for down the road.

I dont like reading memoirs. Describing it as a book that can help through a personal crisis, an inspirational journey, and an adventure all in one is different and sounds exciting. I might change my mind about memoirs. Great review.

It sounds like an amazing and inspiring story of self discovery. I love memoirs like this, and have been eyeing this book for a while. Thanks for a thorough review and the recommendation to read it in short spurts rather than one long sitting.

The Altitude Journals by David J Mauro, a book about the personal account of a man that became a mountain climber when he was 44 years old sounds great and I will love to read it. Great review!
