Thank you for the review. I do not think this book is for me, but I suppose there will be many who will find of interest this particular coming-of-age adventure with touches of mysticism, especially if it is so well written and manages to transmit so effectively the aesthetics of its fictional universe.

It is that plus more. It also delves on human emotions, relationships, and life's struggles, too. I understand and respect the fact that we all have our individual perspectives and corresponding preferences, indeed. Thank you for your honesty.

great review. This coming of age book really takes a look at family and traditions along with mysticism and fantasy.Sarah suddenly appears at the doorstep of her grandfather Tom and joins him on a trek to his father's grave in the woods. Such a wonderful book and I definitely enjoyed reading it.

I sometimes hate how people get too nitpicky on details like that when the author just wants to tell a fun story...especially when the story is fiction....

At times, a piece could be a good blend of both. This one turned out different from my initial expectations, and yet it didn't disappoint. It could take a while, but patience in completing what should be could pay off eventually. Thank you for your candid comments.

I enjoy the outdoors so much and the characters' descriptive jouney in the Olympic National park would appeal to me greatly. I also like how the author has infused his own experiences and education in creating this living characters. Nice review, I enjoyed it.

In Tolkien way, this piece also has visuals to complement the manuscript's imagery as the characters went on with their voyages. The author's numerous years of experience and work on this book truly paid off. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and kind words.

This is a genre that I really like, and this sounds like an enjoyable story. I like that you say that you had a sense of knowing even though the author hadn't actually given you a lot of backstory on the characters. It's too bad that the narration wasn't the best. I have read This book and consider it an outstanding read from from geographical interpretation to historical facts to character development. It has covered all aspects very well.

This does seem interesting and I do like fantasy, but I'm skeptical about it. Even with the good reviews. The description just leaves me feeling meh about it. So I'll add this to the maybe pile.

Tom is troubled by his granddaughter's unannounced visit, but what bothers him more is that she's too headstrong. He takes her on a camping trip hoping to instill some discipline in her. It is a journey of self-discovery that will leave both of them enlightened.

We all could learn from each other, indeed, even from those we least expect it such to be. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I am sure that this book will resonate with some, the descriptions and mysticism seem pretty intense in certain paragraphs. For me however there is very little I found interesting, in certain interpretations of a select few.
