Thanks for the review 4 stars is worth. It is written by an author whose writing style is good, understanding, and the story is well organized and interesting. The story setting is in the wilderness of Washington State. The story has historical facts, native culture, past legends and flows with a spiritual quest that makes the story more interesting.

On the other hand, it will appeal to those who are open to be enticed by a unique blend of pragmatic consciousness and imaginative mysticism.
I love that! It seems to perfectly describe what the book is. A great blend of history and fantasy with great characters and a lot of adventure. This one has been on my reading list for a while. It sounds like it's worth the 4 stars! Thanks for the great review.

Not my type of book so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. I like your take that this book has a "unique blend of pragmatic consciousness and imaginative mysticism" and is great for those that enjoy that.

I like the blend of history and fantasy. The adventurous orphan reminds me of Anne of Green Gables. Sarah is headstrong with a strong personality.

I loved what I read so far. It's a little cliche as a storyline, but compelling at that. I really like Tom, Myra, William and Sarah so far, and hope the three will straighten Sarah out.

I haven't read this book yet but your review and summary of the novel makes the story seem very intriguing. I usually don't read adventure fiction books too often but I think I will have to pick this one up. You did a great job describing the contrasting themes and ideologies.
Give me the courage to get through this week...or at least a big bar of chocolate :D

I had already commented on this review earlier but since it is the BOTD review I'll comment again. I can of course find something else to say about your outstanding review!. I think a story in itself is the fact that it is a surprise granddaughter which you mentioned in the review and I read in the sample. I like the author's style of writing as well as yours!. I think it sounds like a good book, and Congrats to the author on the BOTD, and congrats to you on being the review of the BOTD!

I read the sample pages today and then read your review for more clarity, and it sounds like this book is complex. I wasn’t overly thrilled with the opening pages, so I wasn’t sure if this one would be to my liking. I spend most of my time in non-fiction but do consider fiction if it catches my attention. This one just didn’t do that, but your well written insightful review helped me to determine to let this one go for now. This is why I’m glad book reviews exist! Thanks for this great review! You are definitely a professional!

Awesome review about an orphan girl, her story line begins when she surprisingly step foot on her grandfather's door step. It is also wonderful that the author was able to integrate tinges of his life to this intriguing story. Congrats.
