I love that the author uses animals in these books. Kids like adventure animals, and mystery; pets working together to solve a crime it is perfect for young readers. I agree with you about the age thing, older kids would want more out of it unlike a younger child would enjoy and love this book just enough.
Thanks for your review!!

I've already read 3 or 4 of Inca & Co's stories and I've loved them all, so I have no doubt that I will love this one with them trying to hunt down a missing sword, as well, even if it doesn't have quite enough info about Sri Lanka in it. Thanks for the review!

Children love talking animals and they love reading about new locations. I like that this book is written like a diary. Many kids want to writein a diary, and this gives them an idea of how to proceed. Overall, this seems like a great beginner book.

Inca and her team are really intelligent animal detectives who were able to solve the mystery of the missing sword. Thank you for a great review.

Animal detectives are always popular, but it would have been nice to work in more of the culture while they were there.

You did a good job of summarizing who might enjoy this book. Namely, younger children with good reading skills. Thank you!

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is the seventh installment in The Inca Book series. A standalone read that follows the adventures of Inca and her detective helpers in solving the case of the missing sword and gold coins which were stolen from the Colombo Museum.

It's a great story based on your review. I'll read this book. Thanks for the detailed review.

This is a nice book. Thanks for the nice review also. I, however, wish to propose that the author could have increased the number of pictures since it appears that at some instances, one takes a long time before finding a picture.

This is a spot-on review of R.F. Kristi's Serendipity Mystery as it raises three important points about the book: a) it's a breezily written and fun-filled children's book about lovable Siberian cat detective Inca and her furry entourage as they travel with their human mom through Sri Lanka so it's great to read it to your kids before they snooze; b) it's a good way to introduce kids to a different culture and country, like Sri Lanka; c) it's also a great story book for kids about animals, reading them this book is almost akin to bringing them to a zoo. I did not know much about Sri Lanka before this book and I got something out of reading Serendipity: that Sri Lanka's ancient city Anuradhapura, a UNESCO heritage site, is home to the country's most important Buddhist temples and landmarks and also, home to the oldest human-planted tree in the world! All of these facets of the story are weaved in seamlessly with the mystery of an antique sword. Highly recommended for parents looking for a new story book for their kids.

The review has given a good insight of the book. I just want to make a point after sampling the book and reading the synopsis by the author, that the language of the book is of a higher level than a kid of around 7-8 years would normally read. Though it's not that difficult and could be read aloud and under some guidance for better understanding for the younger kids out there. Cheers :) :)
