I've read this book and I found Galen to be intriguing. I felt like there was way more to his character. I will read the other books in the series.

I sampled a few pages of the book and it just wasn't for me. Felt like I would enjoy this more as a movie or series.

I read the sample and found it very interesting. Galen has found a great opportunity to start afresh and goes for it. Voulhire, the place he is escaping to sounds the like the perfect place but it also has its share of challenges. Certainly worth reading through in order to find out how this adventure ends.

This captivating novel transports the reader to a magical land ruled by rival princes that tear the people apart and cause misfortune to the protagonist. I especially liked the in depth descriptions of the characters particularly the mages as they are brought to life through the author's craftful pen. Congrats on the BOTD!

I enjoyed reading this book very much; it has a mixture of emotions, adventures, magic, suspense, war, tragedy, and humor. The author succeeded in making Galen's character captivating and innocent. Thanks for this amazing review!

Your mention of the detailed descriptions of the mage Meldorath and Beth shows that the author has given careful thought to character development. Descriptions play a crucial role in helping readers visualize the characters and become invested in their journeys. It's evident that the author has paid attention to the finer details, allowing readers to form a clear mental image of the characters and their unique traits. Good job.

I rarely read fantasy. But I applaud that "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz not only has outstanding world-building but memorable characters. In my experience, fantasy writers often overlook character development in favor of world-building. Good review!

“We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz is a fantasy story that takes place in Voulhire when the main character Galen Bray has traveled to take over is uncle’s blacksmithing business. This book is a chronicle of Galen’s quest for a fortune in an unfamiliar land. Galen is faced with dark magic wizardry with the return of the Caromentis mages and the silence of the Riva Rohavi hints at the future disaster yet to come. An interesting book with many unusually named characters in a land far away. Will King Wilhelm continue to rule this land? I do like fantasy stories but prefer ones that have names that are easier to pronounce. Very good review.
