Unfortunately, even if war stories were my cup of tea I am afraid that I would have skipped this book anyway. For two main reasons - first, review couldn't entice me to delve in this storyline and second, I am strongly discouraged by 2.7 out of 4 Average Reviewer Rating. The author telling the story of loss and pain in such an easy manner so that even though one feel the pain, and yet one is engulfed by the joy, relief and peace of the characters made the storyline unique. Great review!

"The Bronze Bear" by Jerry A. Greenberg - A story that brings a sense of the kindness and love imbued in Fred, the protagonist. From the beautifully told memories of his grandpa and his maturing process. Wound in to the memories are stories of a bronze bear which perhaps has magical powers but at any rate was a treasured, "borrowed from grandpa without asking" thing of great meaning to Fred and to grandpa. Fred also has wartime experience to tell us about. Thanks for the review.

Its not very often that I come across a book about war, that's not all about war but majors on the actual participants in the war. This book talks about Fred the person and also Fred the soldier. Should be an interesting read. Thanks for the good review.
