Thanks for the thorough and insightful review. The book indeed seems quite fascinating and intriguing, what with forbidden love, politics, druidism and Celtic and Roman cultures involved. The author has certainly done extensive research into history.

Thanks for the review. Roman and Celtic culture do not interest me. Also thanks for the warning about the book having sexual assault content. Will pass reading the book.

I am wondering if the mention of the twin sister is foreshadowing as well. Strange that it isn't mentioned again. Great review!

I like fantasy, I like romance and it will be interesting to read about the Roman and Celtic cultures. The combination of love, magic, different cultures and civilizations with their own customs, myths and legends, adventure and intrigue make the novel very catching. I've read some other books by this author and I liked them. I'm sure this one will not be an exception. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Thanks for the nice review on this nice book, which is a nice blend of fantasy and history. The story is set in 24 A.D. in Britannica and is a love story of a Celtic princess Catrin and a Roman nobleman Marcellus, But for their families interests the love is forbidden by some curse. It is quite interesting to know how both Catrin and Marcellus decide between their love and their duty towards their family and to the kingdom they belong.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

From reading your review, I may read this book. I do like to read historical fiction but not often. I like the details you gave to let the next reader know what to expect.

An action-packed novel that has expertly blended historical and fantasy elements. The review is making the book an enjoyable read and with minor errors present, I believe that the reading process will also be smooth as well.

Any one that love history like me, will key into the diversification method in this book. It touches ramifications of life.

However, non lovers of history may find it difficult to like it.

How wonderful that an ancient culture treated women so well! In fact, I believe their greatest hero was Queen Boudica. I definitely want to read this book. Strong women sometimes fall because of loving the wrong man (and vice versa). It would be interesting to see Catrin handle the dilemma of forbidden love.

I like your review and I can see why this was the book of the month for September. I think that your criticisms are valid and that minor editing of the book would fix these issues. I think that the author should dedicate a portion of the second book in the series to Catrin's deceased twin sister. I love the cover art and I am huge fan of books that cover historical events or people.
