the banned book about love has a flair for creative, original writing and makes an impact on the reader. Can adapt the style to the purpose. Never makes mistakes with grammar, spelling or style.

Ban on this book shows the psychology of our society. People don't even bother to listen to the whole story. They make assumptions and pass their judgment on the basis of half truth that they learn. More importantly, they follow the herd instead of using their own brains.
But am I allowed to say that this book was banned because the author ignored the psychology of the society
I bet had this message been presented in a different way, this book would have got a positive response from the critics.

I just read a little. Mahalo Scott for the free book! So far, it about the different roads of the heart. It talks value of hate.

Looking forward to reading the book itself prior giving into any comments, although the review is very much ''warning'' people about the amount of carefulness to be undertaken prior judging the book itself, it seems that the whole review somehow keeps on repeating about the same topic of ''carefulness'' without speaking about the actual insight of the book.Well-written review though and creating an interest in the book for me for sure.

I'm not surprised Amazon banned this without all the info and having a couple people read the book first. They tend to do stuff with enough persuasion and without all the info. Thanks for a copy I'm really interested to read this now. Also will be going to see who Brock Turner is. I don't keep up on current events or anything like that and have no idea who it is. Thanks for sharing this book with us and for your review.

I am compelled to read this book because I want to understand the contents myself. I am curious with the issues raised by people who just reacted based from the book cover and some pages.

An interesting read. It covers the aspects of humanity and whether it's possible to love the unlovable - are some people only worth hating? It made me think of the fascist Orwellian society driven by hate, are we really there now or on the way to that?

It felt too much like a newspaper opinion column to be classified a book. There were some strange errors that didn't make much sense, perhaps it was conversion to web format. Some points would be better expanded. A perspective of loving the unlovable when hate is easier than love. It encroaches some fundamental issues with the justice system, while identifying faults in the ease of hate over love.

The needs of the victim were almost entirely brushed over, this is probably why the book was removed from the Amazon store. A lot more balance is needed - you just can't publish these stories without permission from representatives of real life victims. The alternative is to change names and anonymise the story.

I can't help but parallel with George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four and the 'moment of hate' - it was a warning to the future how hate is easier than love and Scott Hughes shows how for many people this nightmare vision is now part of where we are in society. It isn't without flaws - for example citing victimless crimes where someone has harmed themselves through actions, inaction or drugs, these aren't victimless crimes by their very nature as the perpetrator and the victim can be the dame person.

Overall it's an interesting read, it feels more like a newspaper column than a book. It's opinion combined with fact. Whether or not I agree is irrelevant, however I would say many of the points needs expansion with better thought out justifications.

There is potential here but it feels like a set of notes rather than a story. Perhaps it would be better as a short story with the protagonist showing support/love for the criminal mentioned and the objections of society the barriers to progress.

4/10

This is an interesting read about love. Love is unconditional because we tend to love people even though we think that they won't love us back. Congrats on a well-written review!

The book raises a very powerful issue. Should we hate those who wronged us only because they wronged us? Or should we love them even if they wronged us? Thanks for a very honest review!

This is good and informative review :) Sometimes we need to take a closer look on something and not just see the surface. Also, I agree that love takes more hard work and action. Hate is taking the easy way out therefore makes people more disconnected to each other.
