what a great review! just the first few lines and i don't need further convincing anymore especially since i love books that teaches a lot of life lessons through people like Barbara Streisand who still succeed despite every trial and tragedy they went through. the way i see it, this book wouldn't disappoint and would be a great addition to my library.

Awesome review! I do not like reading about celebrities, nor do I know who Barbara Streisand is. I am going to have to pass on this one.

Great review! Like you I really believe that this book is not fiction. You see! it reveals much of the real Barbra Streisand life story from adolescent to now. It is a little sad the way she was neglected and not loved by her mother, but altogether the book is intriguing. I have read the short story and it has reveal to me that it is not worth it to ponder about the way oneself look physically. And her psychoanalysis has proven than even-though you know yourself; other opinions is there when in doubt. But it still have me cliffhanging and think I might read the entire book.

I love Barbra Streisand, but this just doesn't appeal to me right now. Maybe if I get the chance to read it, I will. However, there are so many more books that I have on my TBR list, that this one just doesn't make the cut. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though.

Thank you for the interesting review. I initially thought that this was an actual interview or biography novel, but when I read it was fiction I had to go back and check. Haha! Like other readers, I have to question how much is actually true and how much is truly fiction in this story of Barbra Streisand. She is absolutely a known woman who has done much with her career. I don't think that this story will be a good fit for me though. I'd hate to read this and then feel influenced that something is true only to find out later that it is not. Plus, I don't think the overall story appeals to me. I think that others who choose to read will enjoy.

Wow! Well, the reviewer, at least, really loved this book. I did not know Streisand has a difficult childhood, but I am glad that she worked through it. I doubt that I would love this book anywhere near as much as the reviewer, who seems like a true fan.
