I understand your feelings on having your expectations of a book being to high only to be disappointed. Just remember that the last book is not always the LAST book. Thank you for the thorough review.

Oh my, your first paragraph got me reminiscing those good old children's books. And I agree, the conversation you pointed out seems way too straightforward and lacking for it to be a child's. A misleading title is also a definite no for me. I'm sure someday we'll once again stumble upon children's books that we might fully indulge in ;)

I don't know if I would enjoy a story that is more research-based; the cover art and title give me the impression that it is an adventure book. I will pass, but I appreciate your honesty. :)

What is great about The Mystery of the Hidden Cabin is that readers of all ages can enjoy it, which I believe is a hard thing to say about a book at times. The review gives me the feeling that this is an adventure book, so I will have to pass. :)
