Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula was written by R.F. Kristi. This is an entertaining children's book, eighth in the Inca Cat Detective series. The first few pages introduce you to Inca the cat detective and his friends and family. Each chapter is Inca's journal entry for the day. His "Mom" has been invited to South Korea to judge a patisserie competition. They all pack up and fly to South Korea. A few shady characters meet them along the way, such as his "Mom's" enemy, Enzo. Enzo is another chef who is not as good as Inca's mom. You follow Inca and pals through a few different mysteries throughout the book. The most excellent adventure comes as you near the end. You will follow these brave pets on a rescue mission into North Korea.
I enjoyed this book. It was easy to understand and had excellent illustrations to help you through the story. I loved the family aspect that was brought into and was one of the main themes throughout. Family is important, and friends are part of that family.
I don't have anything bad to say about the story. The only problem I had was with my digital copy some of the words overlapped which caused a little difficulty when reading. It did help me to focus on the story!
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was a simple and fun read. Inca is a very entertaining little kitty. He wants to take adventures and is always into something. He lets you know how he feels in each journal entry. Inca will make you laugh.
This is a book for anyone. The target audience is children, but it can be enjoyed by all. If you aren't a parent, this book is a cute little read. Although I would say, it isn't as appealing to audiences without children. If you're a parent, it's a sweet bedtime story for your munchkin whether they can read or not. Have fun!
