The Crystalleries of Echoland by Dew Pellucid
I gave this book a 4/4 rating
Wow! What a magical clever adventure for all ages! Although categorized as teen fantasy, adults could easily enjoy this coming of age novel. I can see how this engaging read won 7 awards. This imaginative book swept me away into a land of invisible pigeons, a frozen lake of gems, and icicle blankets that warm you.
This unique tale lifts off when thousands of children disappear from our world. No one sees the kidnapping; or they forgot. One toddler returns after a week, riding a wolf with a falcon circling over him. That boy is Will Cleary.
Will tries to live a normal life now that he is back, even though sad that his sister is gone, along with all the other children. On Will’s thirteenth birthday a bizarre chain of events triggers Will to set out on a complex adventure to solve the mystery that has plagued those left behind. The answers are hidden in an ancient book that will lead Will into a hidden world beneath our feet….
The rest will remain a secret until you read this book! I did, and look forward to getting lost in her follow-up, The Sound & The Echos.
