I'm so eager to read this as I'm a huge fan of the sci-fi/fantasy genre. I wonder how Galen Bray would adapt to the change of pace, from a war torn "country" to a relatively peaceful place battling corruption.

The map given in the book by the author enables me to understand what the book is about though it is a little bit confusing.

Magical realms and a journey into the unknown, while battling societal expectations... sounds like a complex, fantasy thriller indeed!

The review of this book made it sound fairly interesting. However, fantasy is usually not of interest to me. If I were interested in it, the review made it sound like a good book to start a series and go all the way with it.
Thank you for the well-written review. I will not be reading this book, but hope that the ones who do will enjoy it.

When I first started reading the blurb for this book I was on the fence as to whether I would like it or not, but once I pieced it all together my interest was definitely piqued. I'm an avid reader of fantasy novels and so I'm eager to read this book. Thanks for the fascinating review!

I read and reviewed this book sometime ago. One of the things that stood out for me was the author's power of description. Loved it then, love it now. Great review!

This sounds like the place to start since the author has ambitious plans for ten books in the series. Thank you for your review!

I read book 3 of the series and the story-line is engaging too. But the magical aspect featured in the plot scenes discouraged me from taking on the other books in the series. Ill skip this book. Sorry.

:tiphat: I am amazed by this kind of adventure. Voulhire realm sounds a great fantasy book. Your review makes me more exciting to give this book a try. Games of Thrones entertains me, I guess, this one as well.

As someone who enjoys sci-fi books that create their own world of compelling characters, I may have to check this one out. Thanks for the review, InStoree. :techie-studyingbrown:

If I were to raise a minor criticism, it would be related to the structuring of the sentences. In these kinds of stories, I have found the description of characters, places, customs, etc., to be very detailed and blooming. In Tysz's work, phrases are fairly simple and short. However, sometimes they don't flow particularly well. I expected the paragraphs to be a bit more elaborated. But this is more of a personal taste, as I believe the book might be enjoyable for a young adult audience. Also, because this novel seems to be only the introduction to what the author predicts to be a sequence of ten novels, I would recommend it to those interested in the series.
The target audience could very well be the reason because the book seems carefully executed otherwise. I've found that some "flaws" in novels that are otherwise well-developed can be intentional.
Although I don't care much for fantasy or sci-fi, it always puts a smile on my face to read a review where the writer clearly enjoyed the book very much. That's what reading's for! :techie-studyingbrown:
Thanks for your enthusiastic review!
