We are Voulhire:The Fires of Virko by Matthew Tysz begins with Venden Hrelek the lord of Virko requesting King Wilhelm to allow Virko to run on merchant rule. Virko is the heart of Voulharian industry, the champion of the south's economic competition with the north.A city of Gothic architecture, tall spires and factories. As Lord Venden who had built Virko was owed a great deal by the nation king Wilhelm eventually grants approval.
Galen Bray spends his days in the forge where, using his uncle's manual he tries to perfect the art of forging with the help of his friend Rowan and his evenings with Demitrius the monk reading. After a visit by the mayor of Magna Caelum requesting that Galen should travel to Virko as his uncle did in the past to try and open channels for iron to come to Magna Caelum. And so Galen,Rowan and Demitrius begin on their journey to Virko.Demitrius who originates from Virko describes Virko as a city which has always had a darkness about it, little does he realise how dark things are about to become!Their dark adventure is just beginning.
We are Voulhire:The Fires of Virko is the second book of a four book series which travels between the cosmos-the physical universe and the caromentis-the magical universe.Matthew Tysz shows his excellence for descriptive and imaginative writing ensuring you, yourself feel as though you are on this journey with each and every character, encountering dark spirits, demons, murder, entrapment and magic along the way.It examines the darkside of people, the need for power and manipulation, leaving you eager to read the third book of the series.
I rated We are Voulhire:The Fires of Virko four out of four stars as I found myself immersed in the story, enjoying each and every chapter. We are Voulhire:The Fires of Virko is professionally edited and I didn't find any errors.
I would recommend We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko for anyone who enjoys loosing themselves in a world of fantasy and imagination, where there is always a sense of suspense at what is going to happen next.I would definitely recommend reading the first book (We are Voulhire:A New Arrival Under Great Skies) in the series before reading We are Voulhire:The Fires of Virko as it serves as an introduction to the characters you meet and places you visit throughout the story.
