What could possibly connect the gruesome murders of a judge, a teacher, a barrister and an ex-convict? A needless death, filed as an unfortunate prison accident leads the reader to a trail of puzzling murders. Set in Ireland, the author takes us on a thrilling journey into the mind of a calculated killer; one who will stop at nothing to get the ultimate revenge.
Despite the accidental discovery of the killer’s blog on the Dark Web, the killer’s identity remains a mystery. For one who philosophizes previous killings, this narcissistic killer leaves no clue behind and the police team is at wits’ end. The chilling activities of a mysterious sex club further complicates matters, as new evidence shows that all isn’t as it seems. In the face of a growing list of suspects, a series of surprising twists and turns compel the police team to ask for additional help from a retired cryptographer. Most importantly, the race to catch the killer before the next kill, is one that the police team simply cannot afford to lose.
The Dark Web Murders is a crime thriller written by Brian O’ Hare. It is a thrilling read, exceptionally well-edited and full of suspense. It has an intriguing plot and the main characters in this story are relatable. At some point, I found myself empathizing with some of them. I also enjoyed the camaraderie between the police officers as I considered certain scenes quite entertaining.
This work of fiction is an enjoyable read that is highly recommended. The author pays attention to small details and his vivid description of some of the murder scenes is not overtly disturbing. Additionally, I did not notice any grammatical error nor explicit offensive language in this book. Honestly, I have no complaint about this fictional work from Brian O’ Hare. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.
This book would appeal to lovers of thrillers, murder mystery and crime detective books. If you are rather sensitive and thoughts of smashed heads may be rather troubling, then I recommend that you avoid this book. However, if you want a crime book that will keep you up all night, then The Dark Web Murders is definitely worth reading. The author did a brilliant job and the ending will come as a surprise. I finished it in one night as I couldn’t put it down after the second chapter. Not only was the story well-told and fast-paced, but also easy to follow.
