Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series) by Stella Knights follows a woman, Savannah, who is disheartened by her life. She is stuck in a dead-end job at a call center, and her marriage is struggling. She decides that what she needs is a vacation, and she has her heart set on going to Thailand. Her husband, Johnny, is resistant to the idea at first. He doesn’t want to leave their home country of Australia. He argues that Australia has everything they could possibly want and that there is no need to go to a different country. Savannah eventually persuades him to go, though he is adamant that it won’t be worth it. Savannah is desperate to turn her life and marriage around, but nothing seems to be going right.
This book was well written, and I only noticed one small error. The writing was also super engaging. The first-person point of view through Savannah brought her inner struggle into the light. Her worries and attempts to get through to her husband were brought to the forefront of the novel. Her character was highlighted and well-developed. Through her eyes, the problems and frustrations of her life were easy to relate to and felt real. This was my favorite part of the novel.
While this book is an erotic love story, it goes a lot deeper than many such books. The struggles the characters face are very real issues. Savannah had to deal with the loneliness of being in a less than stellar marriage. While there is a lot of erotic content, that is not the entire focus of the book. I feel like the depth of the characters made this book very insightful. It stands out from a lot of erotic novels because it has a lot of depth; many erotic novels, in my opinion, are a bit shallow.
There is nothing I truly disliked about this book. The characters, pacing, and writing style were all enjoyable.
I happily give this novel 4 out of 4 stars. Since it is an erotic novel, there is a lot of sexual content. This book is not suitable for younger audiences. I believe those who enjoy erotic fiction will find this book to be an enjoyable read. Additionally, those who want to dive deeper into the mind of a woman who is struggling to find herself might also enjoy it.
