Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series) by Stella Knights is more than what I need in a romance novel. There is no better way to start this book review than be stating, "Give Me More!" We follow the perspective of Savannah, an American who is married to her Australian husband Johnny. They live in Melbourne, Australia where Savannah is longing for a vacation away from her mediocre call center job and unexciting daily life. She desires some time alone with her husband where they can reconnect and find their way back to those feelings from when they first got together.
Johnny’s career is in real estate, so when his commission check dropped there was a grand opportunity for Savannah to make her desires a reality. Luckily, with a little persuasion she was able to get her husband on board with a vacation out of the country, and also put into motion a childhood aspiration to visit Thailand. Savannah is more than ecstatic to spend some much-needed focused time with Johnny, which also included revamping their sex life. She prepared herself by getting some sexy lingerie and even opened herself up to having the talk with her husband about yearning fantasies. Unbeknownst to Savannah this opened up a different dynamic to what she considered as “rekindling.”
This book is undoubtedly for adults only. Without giving the book's details away, Savannah and Johnny open up a whole can of worms that they didn’t think through when trying to discover one another's yearnings. There are a few hot and heavy scenes where Knights puts you in the corner of the room and trust me you do not want to leave. Even with the erotic touch, the story line is nowhere near revolved around sex. Yes, Savannah’s main goal is to improve her sex life with her husband, but we get to uncover the depth of disconnect in their relationship, Johnny’s antics, and Savannah’s impulses which creates a balance that allows a focus beyond taking in an erotica novel.
Alongside the story development, we get to explore Thailand with the characters. Knights does a great job with making sure we know where our characters are, where they are staying, and what sites they take in. We even get a small insert at the end of the book that motivates the readers to travel to Thailand with suggestions that came from the story line. I honestly may consider putting Thailand on my list of places to travel because the descriptions were beautiful, and the food sounded like it would be well worth the extra pounds. All around this book has so many gems and gifts.
I am rating this book 4 out of 4. There were no errors that I uncovered within the pages, and I honestly could not put the book down. I was so curious to know what was going to happen and when everything unraveled I did not know what to think. I was thoroughly invested in Savannah, and the way Knights ended this narrative was genius. I WANT MORE! This perfect rating is mainly because I saw no fault in the story. Everything that took place were things that I can envision happening in real life. Everyone involved in their life felt like real people, and the reactions and decisions made I can relate to. I already feel like Book Two will blow my mind.
