[Following is a volunteer review of "Midwinter Turns to Spring" by Maria Veloso.]
A poem inspires the romance novel Midwinter Turns to Spring taking place in the splendor of an American county, while coincides at the late past 70´s decade and a few recent years ago. The author Maria Veloso, narrates the story of an art professional young woman dedicated to redefine the work legacy of a Spanish artist, who makes reference to the south region of Spain in a village named Málaga, where the Flamenco culture initiates its legendary flourishment.
There were many unauthenticated pieces of the art work, being discussed in a lecture held at the University of San Francisco, where a musician, also young man had to relocate the property of a descent painting, since he formerly pertains to a Spanish lineage. The expected befall arrived, and Savannah Curtis met Alfonso Madrigál, both had been involved in love through their respective passion that recreates every wonder feeling of each other.
In the early childhood, Savannah had experienced situations that she perceived as painful for her innermost feelings, these were so convincing to pursue the interest to know and sustain other infants, then she became part of a Children Institute and taught a kind class in art painting. Meanwhile, she was engaged in a couple relationship with a businessman that did not realize to be in love, though she was secure with his affection.
Alfonso also had ambivalent memoirs about him as a child, he was raised in a port place where he developed the eminent style for Flamenco rhythm, cared from his grandmother, who made him learn to support others in definite values including his relatives, this fact had been important to exert Alfonso´s unselfishness.
There are few errors in the book, even though I rate the novel 4 out of 4, I was concerned with the specific essence of great described characters, as they reveal the aptitude about two distant cultures in a particular moment, which is the most interesting concern in my review, that is the reason to align also language forms of relate, this is found in the narrative of the book, as event interactions evolved into art appreciation. Music is an important feature, that makes the sense of a vivid environment along the novel, and shows its particular scene of delightful landscape nature, exemplified with alive meanings.
In contrast there is nothing I dislike about the book, I consider it appeals to a large extent of young and adult readers, who select and like to spend a prototype reading in romance genre. The reason the rate is not 3 out of 4 in my review, is because writing style adequates thoughtfully the author´s description of space details.
