[rwc=id269313-125]4 out of 4 stars.[/rwc]The graphic novel The Wall is a metaphor both for the wall that protects us from danger and the wall we use to keep others out. As the plot reveals the corruption in our political system that uses the military as pawns instead of the value they bring to the table as people as well as the partisan debate of how to deal with immigration, a team of soldiers is betrayed by its government. How do they survive? As all good teams do. Together. When the team begins to fracture the reader feels that searing pain, and the graphics add to the effect through bold color and slashing pen strokes. The potential evil inherent in all men manifests and only the sacrifice of these men can save us all. The struggle between Good and Evil is real, and yet, not so clear-cut as many would have you believe. What will the next step be? How does the protagonist continue with the knowledge of his past suffocating him? We’re eagerly awaiting the next book in the series as this novel ends on a cliffhanger. This book earns 1 out of 4.
