[Following is a volunteer review of "Midwinter Turns to Spring" by Maria Veloso.]
Midwinter Turns to Spring is a story about true, mature love, honor, commitment and the healing power of love.
I enjoyed reading this novel although I must admit I was a bit confused at the beginning with all the flashbacks but once I got into the story, I was hooked and I couldn't start reading it through the end.
There is a good balance of action and vivid descriptions and the characters are well developed. I enjoyed reading about the various settings in Southern Spain and California and the fiery flamenco music.
If you are a parent and are considering divorce, this book will make you think about the deep emotional scars that can have a lasting effect on children and their future relations for years, or for a lifetime.
There's no profanity or vulgarity and the love scenes are discreet. I wish there were more wholesome love stories like this one.
If you love reading romance, this book will take you on a ride. It will make you think and even question the quality of your own relationships. I highly recommend it.
