[Following is a volunteer review of "The Date Farm" by Jack Winnick.]
The Date Farm is a fictional story that could very well be non-fiction. The main characters are an Israeli Mossad couple assigned to aid America after Arab terrorists attack New York City. They had previously been assigned so before in a similar situation in southern California. The enemy is the same - Arab terrorists, led by the same sheik. Of course, the sheik is just the current pawn of the Iranian Mullah, and if not him, there would be another.
The terrorists knocked out satellites and blacked out communications in New York City and took over the Federal Reserve Building and the Chase Manhattan Building. No-one can figure out what they are after. It would be impossible for them to get to the gold reserves, so what is it?
The team. led by Uri and Lara are determined to find out. They each take a squad of agents, one to the Chase Building, one to the Federal Reserve Building, and the chase is on.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this story. What I liked the most was the author telling it like it is. Islam is an ideology of hatred - towards the Jews and Christians and anyone who supports them. There is no such thing as a lone wolf. Muslim children grow up being taught from a very early age to hate. They are, as the author points out, encouraged to play video games such as "Invasion of Tel Aviv", a bloody and violent game of killing Jews. He also shows how ignorant we are by allowing Islamists into high positions in our schools and government. They may appear to be our friends but they are not. Rewriting our history books in schools and trying to change our laws is only the beginning.
What I like least about the book was all the time spent on the description of the firearms. A lot of people like that kind of stuff and I get that, but for me, I just want to get on with the story. I still give The Date Farm [i/] a 4 out of 4 . It is a well-written book with a story I believe all patriots should read. It tells the truth without getting on the soap-box as I tend to do.
If you enjoy books ( or movies ) like Tom Clancy's "Jack Ryan", you will love this book. Jack Winnick is a very good writer and I myself, am looking forward to reading more of his work - particularly if the subject matter is similar.
