[Following is a volunteer review of "Guardian of Deceit" by William H. Coles.]
Guardian of Deceit by William H. Coles is a book that I never wanted to put down. It follows the life of Darwin Hastings. This young man has been living with his aunt since the death of his parents. Darwin is forced to move in with his football star cousin, Luther Pinnelli, when his aunt becomes too ill to take care of him. However, Luther is tough to live with. Darwin must work for his inheritance and Luther is always busy with his career, gambling, and women. Darwin’s main goal throughout the novel is to become a doctor. This makes Darwin’s life challenging as he has to balance his studies and working for Luther.
The characters throughout this book are what kept me wanting more. They all have their own complicated lives, yet each one relates back to Darwin’s life in one way or another. The story line is also very easy to follow in this novel.
I found no spelling mistakes or grammar errors in this novel. It seems to have been very thoroughly read through. However there is foul language included throughout the book.
Seeing this I believe this would be a good book for adult audiences. It includes sex scenes, adult language, violence, and drugs. People under age 18 should not read this novel due to its content.
Due to these reasons I would rate Guardian if Deceit 4 out of 4 stars. I will definitely be looking for more novels by this author.
