This book was a true masterpiece. The author takes you on this adventure of love, hope, and loss. She even used facts throughout her book. Love overcomes everything in this book. The characters are well rounded and grow throughout the story. The author was able to switch point of views seamlessly throughout the book. I didn’t notice any editorial errors. There were a few bad words, but I can’t remember when the first one appeared. I would give this book a 4/4. Linnea Tanner transformed this little girl and little boy into a man and a woman. She gave them tough lessons which parallel to our everyday lives. This book is perfect for teenagers with the forbidden love and the adventure. The author correctly used Roman beliefs throughout the story and referenced their gods many times as well as some of their tales. This book shows the struggles and triumphs of what a teenager goes through. Whether it’s follow their heart or follow their family. The symbol of the raven isn’t apparent at first. It’s only when you know the entire past of Catrin and her hated brother Murrock when the symbolism of the raven comes to light. As well as Murrock being a wolf. The author chose an accurate spirit animal for Murrock since he’s a predator both in human and animal form.
