Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is a childish fiction book that tells about a detective cat named Inca, who runs a detective agency in a magical animal world. Her family is composed of Mom (her owner), her siblings: Fromage and Cara. In the agency are also her dog friends: Terrance and Polo, a hamster and a blue Russian cat. Inca is a super-duper Siberian cat who goes on vacation with her family. They traveled to a paradise island in Sri Lanka. While they are on the island they met new friends, Meena, a baby elephant, her mama, and Rani, a sea turtle.

The story takes place during the holidays on the small island where they enjoy the beach, go for walks, visit interesting places. As long as, they are having fun, a beautiful and expensive sword and valuable golden coins are stolen from the museum. Inca and her gang are very curious and eager to investigate and discover what happened to the robbed goods and find the culprits.

Then, the renowned detective Solo, who is the owner of Terrance, is called to investigate the theft and quickly both arrive on the island. Inca and her companions live incredible, fun and risky adventures. They delight on the beach, go out to meet other animals, and feel emotions. They consider this a unique opportunity to live experiences like that. Finally, Inca along with her team launch themselves to research and try to solve the crime.

Who stole the sword and the golden coins? Will they be recovered? Will the thieves get caught? Can Inca and her gang solve the crime?

The book is narrated from Inca's point of view. All characters are described with their features that represent common characteristics of people. The author deftly creates a plot that combines facts about family vacations and the robbery with the natural curiosity of cats, especially one that has leadership traits like a detective cat.

I found it pleasant that, somehow, the book mentioned tourist sites in Sri Lanka describing what the small island has to offer, such as World Heritage sites, beaches, caves, plantations, ruins, among others.

What I liked most was the learning obtained from the striking messages that the story leaves about: teamwork, companionship, loyalty, and love for family, friends, and animals, of course. There is also a great sense of gratitude and honesty in the plot. In general, the story is full of remarkable values and principles, such as focusing on achieving the goals without wanting to stand out from others, the importance of joint effort, and enjoying working together instead of alone. Another good message sent is about how bad it is to steal. I also loved the expressive and well-designed images to attract children's attention.

I didn't find anything I disliked in this book. It was well edited, so I couldn't find any typo. Therefore, I am pleased to grant Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend this book for young children and for kindergarten teachers who want to instruct children with values and principles through an entertaining and fascinating story.

Nice reading that the book is full of remarkable values and principles. One thing I do immensely appreciate about children's books is the values it passes. Thanks a lot for the review.
