The Date Farm by Jack Winnick is an action packed thriller based on realistic scenario of present day world. The dark devilish roots of terror are spreading very fastly beneath us and this is engulfing humanity every now and then, wrecking havoc on innocent lives. The same wicked intentions of the terrorists are reflected in this novel. This fictional creation of Jack Winnick falls within the most debatable arena. This is the fourth book of Lara and Uri series but a complete package.

The story moves around an FBI agent, Lara Edmond and a Mossad agent, Uri Levin. The two newlywed were enjoying their time on the family farm of Lara in Ohio. These two leading characters are called upon by their agencies and assigned a mission. Somehow the two were sent to accomplish the same task as FBI were to complement Mossad on a specific mission. The situation aroused as a result of a disastrous terror attack which took place in a shopping mall at Beverly Hills. The terrorists dressed in black got mixed up with the crowd and then showed their real faces. The casualties were in hundreds and several events hence followed in a queue.

Another important event surfaced when the communication networks were tapped. Moreover the satellite signals of the Department of Defense and Homeland Security were intercepted and then the Federal Reserve and Chase Manhattan Banks were attacked. Something more unfurled up when the author cited that there was some precious metal to be safeguarded by agents Lara and Uri as it was eyed upon by the terror group. The growing complexity of the situation hence continued.

Regardless being a part of the series, this book stands with sturdy completeness. The realistic touch to this fiction makes it more invasive. The thing I liked the most is the Date Farm itself, it's location was simply magnificent. The author has a very strong hold over the existing scenario of East and West. What impressed me a lot was Lara fulfilling her duties perfectly though once she was questioned for her abilities. Furthermore the affectionate relationship of Lara and Uri along with their expertise in their professional life was really enchanting. Cyber security pops up as an important area of our concern as technology has been woven completely in our lives.

What I didn't like was the violence which these terrible terrorists declare to be a noble deed. How can this be true? Whether of any religion, no one can ascertain brutal killing to be ethical. This part of the story though attracts a bit of criticism but how the author has created a cover for the terrorist base was very real indeed. A feeling of disgust arises towards Sheik Abidin, head of the terror group but nevertheless this is a part of the story. However I got moved away completely.

I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is well edited and is really captivating with its realistic approach. The Mossad and FBI agents performing their jobs diligently, along with the intermingled love for each other is worth reading.
