2612 Cherryhill Lane by Glenn Vo is a romantic fiction that revolves around the lead characters Jonathan and Samantha. Jonathan is disabled and the accident that caused his disability plays a huge role in carrying the story forward. Samantha is a career-oriented girl who strives to be educated and independent. This also means that she doesn't follow in the footsteps of her mother and her older sibling whose goals are very different from hers. This difference in her personality also makes her a relatively insecure character who however fights to grow out of her insecurities.

Samantha’s relationship with her family has some interesting similarities to that Jonathan shares with his family. Jonathan faces a strained relationship with his family partially because he distances himself and also because his father avoids him completely after the accident. With these existing struggles, the pair become a couple and face challenges during their journey of keeping their love intact.

This book was quite an enjoyable read with many things that I like about it. When I first began reading the book, I thought it would be very similar to several other romantic novels I had read in the past. This was because of the basic plot revolving around a disabled man and a woman who just wanted to be independent. With time, however, the book began to gain its individuality in the sense that the storyline became quite unique.

The author ensured that each part of the book is extremely well written without over-exaggerating any of the characters’ parts because that would have seemed draining to the reader. The storyline was also extremely practical and could be easily related to by the reader. The happiness experienced by the characters wasn't overdone nor were the downs they had to go through. This made the book an extremely refreshing read.

I also like how the author has portrayed the importance of family and friends in an extremely subtle manner because they always look out for you and will always have your back. With many books and several other forms of media content that portray friends as evil and double-faced and families as unsupportive, this book had more warmth in its content and also seemed more realistic and relatable in this aspect.

There wasn't specifically anything that I disliked about the book nor can I state that the book was overwhelmingly amazing. I would classify the book as a light-hearted read that is both refreshing and enjoyable. I hence think that this book is suitable for readers looking for just that. I think that a reader who is looking for a dramatic and juicy love story will not be satisfied with this book because the storyline isn't written in that manner.

I would like to rate this book four out of four stars because it didn't have any negatives and is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed because of its own subtle uniqueness and style.
