“The path I was duty-bound to follow was lonely, friendless, and filled with the possibility of calamitous pitfalls. With your invaluable endorsement, with the awareness that so many of you were accompanying my every move in spirit, I was able to proceed with the conviction I needed to retain my firmness of purpose.”

The path the being spoken about in this quote from the book is the path of murder. The killer is on a spree of killings that he thinks are justified because those murdered deserved this punishment. Detective Sheehan and his team of law enforcement personnel are entrusted with uncovering these murders but get caught in a network of the upper crust of the society and their filthy and creepy fantasies. In this pursuit, they also come across a world of the Internet that is unknown to regular people like you and me but is available to very restricted people with exotic and weird tastes.

The Dark Web Murders is a book in the Crime/Thriller/Mystery genre. The author Brian O’Hare from Northern Ireland has a series of books written on Inspector Sheehan. This book is 416 pages long and is published by Crimson Cloak Publishing.

The story is gripping right from the beginning. It starts with a story from prison about a certain young man who happens to be in an accident. The story then moves on to a new setting, and the first murder occurs. It is brutal, it is gruesome, it is gory but you wouldn’t be able to put the book away. Inspector Sheehan and his team are relentless in finding the murderer. But the things they uncover about some Richie-Richs will give you the creeps. The killer’s state of mind is described in full detail, and it’s very fascinating to read the eloquent description. Yet, we are left guessing as to who the murderer would finally be.

The writing style is captivating. The story is arresting. The plot is excellent. The characters are brilliant. And the reveal of the murderer is my favorite part. The book is worthy of a 4 out of 4 stars. To tell you the truth, I am surprised I haven’t read books from this author before. I was so engrossed in the book I didn’t bother about a few missing quotes in the writing. Other than that, I found the editing quite good.

Readers who cannot stand gory, gruesome, bloody tales stay away. Also, foul language is used amply. And yet I would recommend all the mystery and crime fans to absolutely not miss this book. I would love to read many more mysteries from this author. I would take this opportunity to encourage him to write more stories. Happy reading!

I wonder if Detective Sheehan and his team of law enforcement personnel are going to make any progress with uncovering the murder cases. Nice review!
