Review by Veraok -- One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams
One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams is the first publication of the Sister’s Quartet Series. The book consists of 29 chapters and 329 pages of pure reading delight. One Way or Another is about Calder, who is the second of four girls of Billy Benedict. The sisters Andi, Calder, Bryce, and Destry share a solid bond amongst themselves as that was the only family they had within their dysfunctional family.
The book begins by portraying a beautiful relationship and bond the sisters have, and how Calder found joy in associating with her sisters. Calder is a gentle and easygoing lady who doesn’t take rejection easily. She is also a very principled and pragmatic person. More so, most of her principles, especially on love, are based on her experiences. These experiences also originate from her mother’s failed marriages and many relationships. Then, she met Adam Stone, who she admires for his impressive moral breeding and sincere pragmatist personality.
Adam is an optimistic individual who has a genuine love for Calder. However, he still seems attached to his sexual partner and occasional lover, Aurora Charles, before he met Calder. Also, the sisters seem suspicious of their mother’s newest lover, Ingo Hunter. What makes them suspicious? What is the fate of Calder and Adams’ relationship, despite his sexual attachment with Aurora? These answers make the storyline a romantic one with a bit of crime and suspense.
The book is a very captivating one, and I admire how Mary J. Williams used many descriptive words to explain pictures and places. These descriptions give the readers a vivid image of what the story entails. Also, I love the way each character was developed throughout the book from the minor ones to the significant figures. This description makes the reader comprehend information about each character and the role they play in the storyline. Furthermore, I appreciate the writer’s choice of words and fantastic love scenes; it made the book an exciting one to read.
I did not find any error in the book as it was well-edited. Also, I found nothing I dislike about the book. And the book is a quick and interesting one to read.
Therefore, I rate One Way or Another 4 out of 4 stars, as I enjoyed the storyline. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a romantic genre with a bit of danger. Also, travelers and teenagers who love realistic romantic stories will learn one or two lessons from the book.
